Productive procrastination (noun); getting through as many television show episodes in one sitting while avoiding daily tasks is becoming the new normal.

With easier access to technology, we are more distracted than ever. Watching television is becoming more common and is usually included in our daily life. The term “binge-watch” is a brief description of watching multiple videos or episodes of a TV show, in one sitting or over a long period of time. In November 2015, the Collins English Dictionary declared the word “binge watch” as the word of the year. Because of the displeasing service of cable television, and the demands of broadcasting more shows on television, streaming service like Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime are the solution for the problem. These services give access to thousand of movies and TV shows to the viewers, and all are updated routinely.

An article called As Online Viewing Soars, Internet TV Will Soon Be the Only TV  by Marcus Wohlsen stated that, “ total TV viewing over the internet grew by 388 percent in mid-2014.” Because we are living in a world where things continuously competing for our attention, television has gotten better, making binge watching more enjoyable.
