Mr. Borisko’s AP Language and Composition students recently completed a series of digital stories. They had an opportunity to create a political attack advert, a commercial, a public service announcement or a piece of propaganda. Students had to demonstrate their knowledge of Jolliffe’s Rhetorical Framework: establishing exigence, appeals to ethos, pathos, logos, fallacies and surface features. By transferring their knowledge to a real-world performance task, AP students were able to create new meaning in a realistic context.
