There’s still no app that evokes the same kind of awe as live, harmonious, human vocalizations and performance, such as the classic snapping of fingers, clapping of hands, and then stomping of feet to create the scene of an African rain storm (for a treat, skip to 4:10 in the video down below for the MS/HS choir’s rendition of Toto’s “Africa”). These vocal and percussive elements were among the simple delights included in the ISG Jubail Winter Choir Concert held on Dec. 6, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room.

Chris Proulx, ISG Jubail’s chorus teacher, highlighted the advantage of being able to broadcast the event via Facebook Live: “We are thrilled this year to have reached a larger audience with the use of Facebook Live, and as of right now it has over a thousand views. And I think that’s a wonderful integration of technology in our fine arts department.”

“I was pleased with the level of difficulty we were able to achieve with the sixth through twelfth students in vocal music this year,” Proulx said, “and I look forward to working with them and pushing them as far as they can go in the coming semester.”
